Fuel for Industrial Burner Applications
Excel Environmental, Inc. has been in the "Special Waste Hauling" business since 1974. Excel is a licensed transporter of non-hazardous liquid waste. History has demonstrated that our "oil management" will yield a premium fuel oil at a competitive price.
We operate a fleet of specially fabricated tank wagons that pickup used oil from over 2,000 generators in the Tri State area. Trucks are compartmentalized so different waste streams can be segregated. All units utilize gear pumps and have steel tanks. All products picked up are brought back to our transfer facility and are filtered on and off each truck. Products are loaded onto tankers and samples are pulled for testing. When product quality is proven, oil is bag-filtered onto a transport truck. This final filtering process eliminates most suspended insolubles down to 40 microns. This "on specification fuel" is then delivered to industrial burner applications. This oil is representative of a #4 fuel oil. This fuel has proven over the years to be a cost-effective BTU producer.

Small Burner Recycling Program
Excel performs a service for our customers who have small oil burning furnaces. We will pick up, filter, test and store your used oil during the summer months and then transport it back to your facility during the heating season at a deep discount from market price. You get your used oil quickly and efficiently removed by a company which is in full EPA compliance and you get your oil back when you need it, filtered and tested and ready to burn in your small oil furnace. This insures an adequate supply of "on specification fuel" for the entire heating season.
A Few Facts about Used Oil
Used Oil is a "Special Waste" as designated by the EPA. It must be transported by a Federal & State-licensed Hauler. Used oil utilized in a small oil burning furnace must be filtered, free of water, antifreeze, heavy viscosity oils, low flash products and must be tested.
Testing must include the following areas: PCBs Heavy Metals (arsenic, cadmium, chromium and lead), chlorine/halogens and flash point. Test must be done under EPA methodology.
If oil does not meet the above criteria it will not burn and you will be in violation of federal and State EPA laws. Please remember there are also Tank Regulations and your local Fire Marshall and Insurance company should be informed of your intent to burn used oil.
Cost of Energy or Heat
Used Oil has 145,000 BTUs per gallon whereas #2 oil has only 136,000 BTUs per gallon. Used oil gives you more heat per gallon. This makes it an even better buy. BTUs required for heat have a value based on the market conditions. Call us for current pricing
Remember, to receive product in the winter months from Excel we must pickup your used oil in the summer months. Contact us today to become a part of this recycling program.
